Development History of Light Trucks
On March 10, 1958, with the self-made "Yuejin" light truck of Nanjing Automobile Factory leaving the factory, the light truck industry was born in China. In the future, although the national annual output is less than 20,000 vehicles, it has made great contributions to the national economy, and in the next 20 years, it has been in short supply. After the reform and opening up, the light truck industry has entered a rapid development stage with the great development of China's automobiles. In 1978, the annual output reached nearly 150,000 vehicles, and from 1993 to 2000, it kept the annual output of 300,000 vehicles. After that, it entered an extraordinary development period, with the continuous improvement of output and product quality, and the increasing export volume. China has become a big light truck manufacturing country. What is worthy of pride is that China's light truck industry basically relies on the introduction, absorption and independent innovation of China, with 43 manufacturing enterprises, with independent brands occupying an absolute advantage, and a large number of enterprises famous in domestic and foreign markets. It is reported that China's light truck industry has embarked on the road of industrial upgrading.
After 50 years of development, the annual output of light trucks in China has reached 940,000 in 2008, accounting for 55% of the world's total output of 1.7 million light trucks, and the independent brands in the light truck industry have an absolute advantage, accounting for more than 95%.
